The Hating Game
By Sally Thorne
Okay, I’m probably a little late getting to this book. I wasn’t sure if it was going to live up to the hype I kept seeing, so I put it off. Then it showed up as “something I might like to read” on my Kindle and I thought “why not give it a go?” I’m glad I did!
Two co-executives, Lucy and Josh, battle it out at work every day trying to make each other miserable while they’re forced to share the same office. They play games like copying one another’s gestures, stare at each other intensely and basically be annoying until someone wins the game. There’s a lot of fun and witty banter that you can’t help laugh at.
Josh is stiff and grumpy on the outside but surprisingly sweet and vulnerable on the inside. Lucy is quirky, funny and feisty and they soon discover chemistry simmering between them that can’t be ignored no matter how much Lucy wants to try.
If you’re looking for a light-hearted and fun story, this one will not disappoint. It’s a great read.
